I am happy to announce the opening of the Arkie Whiteley Retreat in 2025. This retreat is a legacy in honour of my dear friend, Arkie Whiteley, the daughter of Brett Whiteley.
Hill End, once a historic gold mining town, later became the home for generations of Australian artists, and remains an important cultural landmark.
Last year the Arkie Whiteley Retreat hosted artists, writers, poets and musicians, both national and international including The Bowerbird collective, Joanna Murray Smith and Frannie Hopkirk.
Our home Kirra “dancing leaf”, is a place to immerse in nature, to dream and create.
The retreat cultivates artistic relationships and encourages both groups and individual artists.
We welcome not only artists but birdwatchers, nature lovers, environmentalists, all those who wish to experience the magical heritage environment of Hill End and the exquiste quintessentially Australian bush.
